About

Monica Silvie is a writer and illustrator of children's books. She lives in Vancouver, Canada, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.

Monica’s debut picture book is Chickadee: Criminal Mastermind (Kids Can Press, June 2022), illustrated by Elina Ellis.

Monica has an Advanced Study Certificate in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Currently, Monica is excited to be working on a graphic novel for ages 7 to 11, which includes the story of these very aviator glasses.

Monica is on instagram @monicasilvie. When she’s not writing or doing art, Monica is preoccupied with pollinators, native plant gardening and cake. She posts about these things on instagram @prebroccupied (well, not the cake).
